This is the site of composer and guitar player Dick Toering. Under 'Lister Orkestra'you can find the most recent music I make. Under Blinkolite you can find the music from pop/rockband Blinkolite. All other entrances are from older music. There is a lot of variation in the music, but most of it is influenced bij repetitive music, 'soundscape'music and by irregular metres and by folk-melodies. Some music is pop/rock; some is more influenced by modern classical and avant-garde.

Off course the guitar plays a big role but not often as a solo instrument. My interest is mostly with the guitar as a chord instrument and percussive instrument. I have also been exploring the possibilitues of the guitar as 'sound source', meaning that the guitar Pick-ups can amplifie any sound you make with a piece of wood and six strings and anything u can find to 'prepare'the strings! To me music is an adventure; I want to explore new horizons!

News: I'm recording music that's a follow up from the Lister-repertoire, now under the name Lister Orkestra. You can find a video on youtube. The piece is calles 'the Oostumer vrijstaat'' (th Oostum free state) And was written for the Medieval church of Oostum. The video was made there too.
